How to get here
The residence is located between the center of Taormina and the sea. The center of Taormina is 1 km uphill, can be reached by feet in about 20 minutes, or by car, and also by taxi.
The nearest beaches (called "Isola Bella" and "Mazzarò") are 500 meters downhill, you can walk there from the steps “La scalinata dei Pescatori” in less than 10 minutes. At the same distance you will find the “Taormina Mazzarò” cable car, which connects the sea area to the city center.
From the Highway "A18 CT-ME" if you come from Catania take direction: Messina and vice versa. Exit at Taormina (do NOT take exit "Giardini Naxos"). After having passed the payment toll continue ahead of you following the directions to 'Taormina - Castelmola'. After about 3 km you will get to the public parking 'LUMBI'; at the roundabout take the second exit and keep going straight (do NOT enter the tunnel). After a few meters you will see a gas station “Esso” and a bar “La Siesta” on your left. Immediately after the bar take the first road on your left “Via Guglielmo Marconi”.
Follow the road and directions to “Residence Terra Rossa” for about 1 km until the end of the road, we are the last property.
PS: if you use a GPS Sat. Navigator insert street: "Via Guglielmo Marconi, Taormina".
The street Via Bongiovanni follows and it is not recognized by some devices.
With the Bus
From Catania downtown or from the Airport of Catania take the shuttle bus “Interbus”, direct to Taormina, you can buy tickets (around 10 € per person) just outside the Bus Terminal in street “Via Archimede”, or outside of the Arrival Gate at the Airport. Get off at Taormina Terminal Bus Station in street “Via Pirandello”.
We are located 1 km from the Bus Station. You can either take a taxi for 10 €, or walk in 2 directions:
- on the right walk for about 200 mt and find the Belvedere stairs on your left side. Take the stairs down and after keep going straight.
- or walk on the left, when you get to the gas station take the first road on the right and then left , continue straight. When you arrive in front of the public parking "Porta Pasquale" and on top of the soccer field take the first on the right, keep walking down hill. After the soccer field you will see the panel for Residence Terra Rossa. Keep your right and walk for about 500 mt. With this option you will find less stairs.
With the Train
From the Train Station “Taormina - Giardini” you can take the local bus to “Isola Bella” stop, and take the stair in front of the bus stop which takes you up to Taormina. After 300 steps you will find Terra Rossa on your right side.
Or you can take the local bus to Taormina city center and then walk downhill. Read directions from Bus Terminal above.
Last option: take a taxi from the train station (20 €).
